ASCA Clinic – Level 2 “The Stroke School”

April 13, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

$69

The ASCA Level 2 clinic will be held April 13, 2018. The ASCA Stroke School is about fundamentals. It is about constructing strokes and correcting strokes. When constructing a stroke which fundamentals do we teach first – what is the progression? What are the teaching techniques? When correcting strokes, how do we spot the difficulty and how do we approach it? We will view Olympians and look at the latest trends and techniques but we will spend the majority of the time talking about the young swimmers YOU coach. Tons of video clips, very energetic presentation. You’ll learn things you can put to use the next day. There are no pre-requisites and all coaches are welcome.

About the Instructor

The Level 2 School is taught by Kelsey Ida. Kelsey Ida joined the ASCA staff as International Director in October 2017. A former ASCA Fellow and USA Swimming Age-Group coach, Ida also brings experience working in international development and humanitarian affairs (both domestically and abroad). Ida is a swimming alumna of the University of Nebraska, where she took her BA in Political Science, Philosophy, & International Studies. She also swam for Oxford University before graduating with a Master of Science in 2012.
