David Pavlansky: was head boys’ track and cross country coach at Boardman High School from 1999 –2010 and has over 30 years of coaching experience. Twice named OAT&CCC District 1 Boys’ Track Coach of the Year, Dave received the 2007 Fred Daffler State Coach of the Year Award for Boys’ Cross Country. In his 11 years as a head coach, Boardman’s track teams won 6 league and 7 district championships, produced Indoor and Outdoor state champions and two Nike All-Americans while competing in 14 separate Nike/New Balance National Championships. In 2007 he was among 10 sprint coaches selected nationwide to attend the USATF Emerging Elite Coaches’ School in Orlando, Florida. Dave has USATF Level 2 certifications in Jumps, Endurance, and Sprints / Hurdles / Relays and he currently serves as USATF Regional Coordinator of Coaching Education for the Midwest.
Larry Judge: is an Assistant Professor of Physical Education and coordinator of the graduate coaching program at Ball State University. He has 18 years of Division I coaching experience with Indiana State University, the University of South Carolina, the University of Wyoming and the University of Florida. He is currently the USA Track & Field National Chairman for Coaching Education in the throwing events. He is also a Level III instructor for the International Association of Athletics Federation’s (IAAF) Coaching Education Program and has coached more than 100 NCAA Division I All-Americans, including nine Olympians.
Shawn Venable: is assistant coach for jumps and hurdles and recruiting coordinator at Liberty University. He has coached several All-Americans, conference champions and school record holders in the sprints and jumps events. Venable holds multiple coaching education certifications, including the highest attainable certification with USATF Level 3 and IAAF Level V certification in Jumps, Sprints/Hurdles, and Combined Events. In addition to coaching, he also serves as the USATF Level 1 Regional Coordinator for the Southeast region.
Hank Wilson: CSCS, NSCA-CPT is the Head Coach—Track & Field for Fairfax High School (VA). He is a USATF Level 2 Coach, certified in Combined Events; Sprints, Hurdles & Relays; and Youth Specialization. Leading up to, and including, his co-founding APEX Track Club, Coach Wilson has shepherded dozens of athletes to national-level competition, coaching them to youth All-American status, national top-three finishes, and national championship titles.
