Kathy Butler: is Head Coach of Run Boulder AC a post-collegiate group in Boulder, CO. She is a USATF Long Distance Running Executive Committee member and Women’s LDR Chair/Cross Country Council member with USATF CO. In 2019 Kathy was women’s coach with Team USA for the Great Stirling Cross Country in Scotland. In 2017 she was given the Rising Star Award in Coaching Education from USATF. Kathy was the Head Cross Country/Track coach at Nederland High School, winning 12 Colorado state championships. Ms. Butler was a volunteer coach at the University of Wisconsin and Stanford University. Kathy is a 2-time Olympian, competed in 21 IAAF World Championships on the track, cross country and road, and won five NCAA Championships at the University of Wisconsin. Kathy has earned USATF Level 3/IAAF Academy certification in Endurance, USATF Level 2 in Sprints, Hurdles and Relays and is an instructor at USATF Level 2 Schools for Endurance.
Chris Richardson: is currently the Director of Track and Field/Cross Country at Cerritos College. Richardson previously served as the Director of Track and Field/Cross Country at El Camino Compton Center, Assistant Coach at the University of Central Arkansas, and Head Coach at Moorprak College. Through these various coaching endeavors many NCAA Division I Regional qualifiers, school record holders, state champions, Junior All-Americans, and CCCAA All-American were developed. Most recently, Richardson has served as a Team USA Coach for the Capital Cup, NACAC U23 Championships, Pan American Junior Championships, and Thorpe Cup USA vs Germany.
Catherine Sellers: recently retired from serving as the High Performance Director for Paralympic Track and Field at the United States Olympic Committee. A 30-year coach, Sellers’ most recent success includes directing the 2016 U.S. Paralympic track and field team to an incredible 42 medals, more than any other sport for Team USA. Sellers coaching experience spans the high school level and collegiately as head coach at Stephen F. Austin State University and as an assistant at The Ohio State University. Sellers was an All-American in the 400m hurdles, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical education and recreation from Texas Woman’s University and Masters of Education from the University of Houston.
As an administrator, Sellers spent eight years working for USA Track & Field in the areas of Coaching Education, Elite and Jr. Elite Athlete Development along with conducting National Championships and at one point running the USATF Drug Testing program. Following her time at USATF, she worked as the Manager of Coaching for the United States Olympic Committee and was heavily involved with developing and disseminating educational information for coaches at a multitude of levels.
