USATF Cross Country Specialist Course – #2021-2 (EDT)

USATF Coaching Education presents a 10-hour course specific to the discipline of cross country. Learn periodization training for the cross country season, adapted from USATF Legend Coach, Dr. Joe Vigil, in addition to team building strategies and long term athlete development for the endurance runner.

Lead Instructors

Scott Christensen: One of the country’s top high school coaches, Christensen has led Stillwater HS to 13 state titles and multiple national top 10 HS rankings. He also has served USATF’s delegations at the 2003 and 2008 IAAF World Cross Country Championships.

Thom Hunt: A former prolific long-distance runner and 10k American record holder, Hunt has been coaching for 20 years. He ran for Team USATF at IAAF Cross Country Championships in 1976, 1977, 1981 and 1983, and also served on teams in 2008, 2011 and 2015.
