Instructors and Bios
Chris Richardson is currently the Director of Track and Field/Cross Country at Cerritos College. Richardson previously served as the Director of Track and Field/Cross Country at El Camino Compton Center, Assistant Coach at the University of Central Arkansas, and Head Coach at Moorpark College. Through these various coaching endeavors many NCAA Division I Regional qualifiers, school record holders, state champions, Junior All-Americans, and CCCAA All-American were developed. Most recently, Richardson has served as a Team USA Coach for the Capital Cup, NACAC U23 Championships, Pan American Junior Championships, and Thorpe Cup USA vs Germany.

Joel Pearson is the Head Cross Country Coach at Pratt Community College. Previously, Joel was the Director at Cardinal Stritch University. During his time, the Wolves captured six national champions, 34 all-Americans, 42 National Qualifiers, and set an NAIA National DMR record. A USATF Level 3 / IAAF Level V Academy Coach – Endurance, Joel holds USATF Level 2 certifications in Endurance, Combined Events, Sprint/Hurdles, Jumps, and Youth. He holds a Masters in Sport Management.

Racquel Turner is currently the head Sprint Coach at Saugus High School. Turner has over 10 years of youth coaching experience with the Santa Clarita Storm Track Club, one of the largest track clubs in the USA, and the Valley United Track Club. Over the past four years, Turner has coached dozens of Junior Olympic All-Americans, including the 2018 USATF National Champion Boys 13/14 4×100 team. She is a USATF Level 3 Certified Youth Coach, and holds USATF Level 2 certificates in Youth Specialization, Endurance and Sprints/Hurdles/Relays.

Mike Judge is Head Coach for Throw 1 Deep Club in Marietta, Georgia. Judge has coached multiple state and national champions in the throws and is an expert in training for speed and power events. Judge was the 2013 NASF national high school coach of the year. He holds USATF Level 3/IAAF Level V certification in throws and is also a lead instructor for the USATF Level 2 Program.

Tony Veney most recently served as the Director of men’s and women’s track and field at Ventura College and has over 40 years of track and field coaching experience. Previously, Veney served as Director of track and field/cross country at North Carolina A&T State University and stops at UCLA, Portland State and the University of Oregon. While an assistant coach at UCLA (2003-2009), Veney led 15 Bruins to either indoor or outdoor All-American status, six Pac-10 Champions and four NCAA West Regional titles. During his tenure at Portland State, the Vikings had 28 All-Big Sky Academic award winners. Prior to coaching at Portland State, Veney was an assistant men’s track coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Oregon from 1998-2001.
Veney served as the Elite Junior Film Coordinator from 1987 to 2000 and Elite Senior Film Coordinator and Junior Elite Sprint/Hurdle Camp Clinician from 1988 to 2000. From 1987-1999, he was the Regional Sprint Coordinator. In 1999, he assumed the position of Women’s Sprint Development Chair. Veney is a USATF Level 1, 2 and 3 clinician and certified USATF Master Coach.
